Who are we?

Action Child Aid (Aktion Børnehjælp) is a non-profit humanitarian organisation that operates independently of political and religious interests. We specialize in improving access to education, health and equal rights for marginalized groups with focus on children. Our values are based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. We are of course a member of the trade association of fund-raising organizations in Denmark, ISOBRO.

Every child in the world should have equal rights!

Through close relations with local partners, Action Child Aid has since the 1960s worked with Indian children and their families. We consist of a few employees, some interns and more than 60 dedicated volunteers, that work in close collaboration with our partners in India to ensure a safe childhood for poor and marginalised children in South-East India. We are focusing on the principle that aid must be sustainable and thus be able to be continued by the local people themselves when the project is completed.

Vision

Action Child Aid works for a world where all children can experience a healthy and secure childhood and have equal access to education through schools, so they can create their own future.

Mission

Action Child Aid works actively to ensure that poor and vulnerable children and adolescents in India are given a good childhood and schooling. Action Child Aid wants to help families and local communities to create better conditions for children and adolescents, so they can create their own future. We do this by ensuring better development opportunities for children and their families.
